Crime prevention advice – fuel thefts from HGVs

Dear resident,

As you recently mentioned that you're concerned about vehicle crime, we though that you might like to hear this message.

We’ve seen an increase in reports of fuel being stolen from parked lorries in the south of the county.

If you’re an owner, driver or operator, please consider taking steps to protect your vehicle and reduce the risk of theft:

 -Park in well-lit, secure areas where possible

 -Be aware of suspicious activity around vehicles

-Consider fitting additional security measures

You may want to look into anti-siphon devices for trucks - a quick online search will show a range of products designed to help prevent fuel being siphoned.

 If you see anything suspicious, report it early on 101 or 999 in an emergency - this helps us take action and prevent further incidents.
